Harvey Maps

Harveys 1:40,000 v OS 1:25,000 v OS 1:50,000

I tried a Harveys 1:40,000 map walking on Dartmoor, as I have heard people rave about them. Here are a few observations.

They are certainly clearer, without the extraneous information of boundaries and other stuff not very important to navigation. This makes it easier to tell paths from Rights of Way, and generally tidies up the map.

But....

I missed the extra detail of the OS 1:25,000 maps, including the archaeological information on stones circles and standing stones, the sort of thing that makes walking interesting!

What do you think?
